World News: Massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut

Newtown, Connecticut (CNN) -- In one of the deadliest school shootings in U.S. history, a gunman opened fire Friday in a Connecticut elementary school, killing nearly 30 people -- most of them children, a law enforcement official receiving information from the scene told CNN.

At least 10 of the dead at Sandy Hook Elementary School were students, a different law enforcement source familiar with the investigation said. Among the dead were the school's principal and psychologist, according to a parent who was at the school when the incident happened.

The mother of the suspected gunman was also among the dead at the school, a senior law enforcement official familiar with the investigation told CNN, while the suspect's brother was found dead in a residential location in Hoboken, New Jersey.

"Why? Why?" one woman wailed as she walked up a wooded roadway leading from the school.

At a news conference Friday afternoon, state police Lt. Paul Vance declined to put a number on the deaths. He would say only that there had been "several fatalities." Police were waiting to notify families before releasing details, but he reassured nervous residents that the school was secure, the danger past.

Notorius B.I.G Autopsy Report Released (With Autopsy Document)

(TMZ) - Christopher Wallace sustained gunshot wounds to his chest, shoulder, leg, forearm and scrotum on the night he was murdered in L.A. back in 1997, this according to the never-before-seen autopsy report, just obtained by TMZ.

The report confirms Wallace, who was listed at 6'1", 395 lbs, was struck a total of 4 times in a drive-by shooting on Wilshire Blvd while the 24-year-old rapper sat in the passenger seat of a Chevy Suburban.

According to the report, 3 of the shots were NOT fatal.

-Gunshot #1 struck Wallace in the left forearm and traveled down to his wrist.

-Gunshot #2 struck Wallace in the back, missed all vital organs, and exited through his left shoulder.

-Gunshot #3 struck Wallace on his outer left thigh and exited through his inner left thigh.

The reports says, after Gunshot #3 exited the thigh, "the projectile strikes the left side of the scrotum, causing a very shallow, 3/8 inch linear laceration."

The fatal bullet was Gunshot #4, which entered Wallace's body through his right hip and ripped its way through several vital organs, before coming to rest in his left shoulder area.

According to the report, the bullet perforated Wallace's colon, liver, heart and the upper lobe of his left lung.

Immediately after the shooting Wallace was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Hospital, where doctors performed an emergency thoracotomy, but it was too late. Wallace was pronounced dead at 1:15 AM.

According to the report, all 4 of the gunshots traveled through the Suburban passenger door before striking Wallace. Two of the bullets were found on the gurney that transported Wallace to the hospital. Another bullet was discovered at the hospital when the body was turned over after doctors had pronounced him dead.

During the autopsy, the coroner listed Wallace as "morbidly obese." A toxicology test revealed Wallace had no traces of drugs or alcohol in his system at the time of his death.

Wallace's body was eventually ID'd by his mother and wife.

One last thing - on one of the pages of the autopsy report, there is a note scribbled under the headline "Other Pertinent Information" which reads: "Decedent may be rap singer."

Wallace was 24.

Clear Channel Fires Several DJs Across the Country

Clear Channel Communications, the largest radio station operator in the United States, dismissed dozens of local D.J.’s this week, affecting small stations from Syracuse to Spokane, Wash., and raising fresh concerns about the homogenization of radio programming.

Clear Channel Communications, the largest radio station operator in the United States, dismissed dozens of local D.J.’s this week.Clear Channel Radio, which operates about 850 stations in the United States and employs 12,000 people, declined to say how many employees were dismissed, but some of the D.J.’s said they believed that the number was in the hundreds.

The company said the layoffs were not made to cut costs but were part of a revamping of its about 600 regional radio stations. (Its 250 other stations are in large markets like New York and Los Angeles.)

“We’ve completely rethought our regional market strategy and reinvented our operations in those markets in a way that will let us compete on a new level — and succeed using all of Clear Channel’s resources, scale and talent,” a company spokeswoman, Wendy Goldberg, said Thursday.
