Conrad Murray Sentenced
Conrad Murray was sentenced to four years in prison today for the murder “involuntary manslaughter” of The King of Pop, Michael Jackson.
Some would say justice was served. I say this sentence still will never bring our legend back.

Heavy D Laid to Rest
Funeral services were held at Grace Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon, New York on Friday (11/18/11). Dwight “Heavy D” Meyers died unexpectedly on November 8.
President Obama sent a letter of encouragement to his family and friends, which was read by Reverend Al Sharpton:
We extend our heartfelt condolences at this difficult time. He will be remembered for his infectious optimism and many contributions to American music. Please know that you and your family will be in our thoughts and prayers. [Source]
Celebrities in attendance included the likes of Usher, Diddy, and Jada Pinkett-Smith.

Google Launches Their Anticipated Music Store
Google opened its new music store to in the US this week making them direct competition for Apple and Amazon.
The store has been added to the Android Market, and is also targeting the indie music lover. It also features a new and improved web player which along with the Magnifier music blog helps with downloading, and shopping for music.

Heavy D’s Autopsy Inconclusive, Funeral Arrangements Have Been Announced
The cause of Heavy D’s sudden death has been ruled inconclusive. The L.A. coroner’s office says that they will be, “deferring further judgment until they receive a toxicology report.” There were, however, no illegal drugs found at heavy D’s home, and he was taking prescribed medication for a cough. He had just returned from London, and was reportedly suffering from pneumonia.
Heavy D’s family announced a public wake will take place on Thursday, in Mount Vernon, New York, Heavy’s hometown.
The funeral is scheduled for Friday. Both Diddy and the Reverend Al Sharpton are expected to speak. Check out Heavy D’s memorial website, rememberheavyd.com.

EPMD’s Erick Sermon Suffers from a Heart Attack, Says He’s Good
It's been a rough week for fans of '90s hip-hop. First came Tuesday's news that Heavy D had died after collapsing on the sidewalk outside his Beverly Hills home. Then over the weekend, Twitter lit up with the news that 42-year-old Erick Sermon, one half of the groundbreaking duo EPMD, had suffered a heart attack.
According to a report Sunday from GlobalGrind, Sermon will be undergoing tests over the next two days and hopes to be home by Wednesday. His direct quote is "I'm Good." The initial news of his heart attack prompted a flurry of well wishes from supporters and his musical colleages, including Russell Simmons, Chef Raekwon and Questlove.

Rap Legend, Heavy D dies at 44
Dwight Arrington Meyers a.k.a Heavy D died earlier today. He was rushed to an L.A. hospital at around Noon and was pronounced dead close to 1pm.
I always wanted to see this dude. This is a definite loss to Hip Hop.

Boxing Great, Joe Frazier Dies at 67
Best known as the first man to beat Muhammad Ali in March of 1971, Smokin’ Joe, a.k.a, Joe Frazier lost his life to liver Cancer yesterday. he was 67 years old.
