Obama Looking To Jay-Z For Campaign Help

As President Obama nears re-election time, his camp behind his 2008 election campaign is trying to figure out how to capture the youth and minority vote and it looks like they’ve found an answer: Jay-Z. Deputy White House Press Secretary William Burton told the New York Post “I can’t believe you’ve finally heard the chatter about him replacing Larry Summers.” The key word in this statement is “chatter”. No official statement has been made saying Jay is replacing anyone or doing anything related to Obama. “In all seriousness, keep in mind he was pretty active during the 2008 election, so I don’t think it’d surprise anyone that he would be involved again. But it’s a little premature” he says.

I think it’s way to early to suggest anything. There were several people who were also active during Obama’s election campaign back in 2008, but does that mean they’re going to replace Larry Summers? I doubt it. Obama’s camp will do what they deem is necessary to capture the vote of the young people and whether it involves a high-profile celebrity like Jay-Z, we’ll just have to wait and see.
