Diddy Tops Forbes’ Hip Hop List

diddy-and-jay-z-500x383

Upon yesterday’s release of Forbes top five grossing hip-hop artists, some might be a bit shocked as to see the moderate shift in power. While still largely separated from the remainder of the pack, Diddy has overstepped hip-hop royalty, Hov, in taking the number one spot. Of course, Jigga is not at all far behind, but it may come as a slight surprise that he has been overtaken. Guess it’s time to crank out another number one and hit the road, huh Jay?

Rounding out the uneven top five is Dr. Dre at number three, and we can’t deny that he has had a solid comeback year. 50 cent and his new-found love for the big screen takes the number four spot. And Mr. Baby Money, Birdman, settles in at number 5, in large thanks to Weezy and the rest of the YM crew. Hit the jump to check the list with the coinciding earnings.

1. Diddy ($475 million)

2. Jay-Z ($450 million)

3. Dr. Dre ($125 million)

4. 50 Cent ($100 million)

5. Birdman ($100 million)
